In these six-day concentrated art courses, designed to encourage instinctively confident creativity, you will have the opportunity to experience drawing, painting, composing, layering and manipulating the finest array of paints, pigments, pencils, and papers in unique and exciting ways.
The emphasis on personalized instruction, the freedom to follow your individual artistic path and the building of knowledge and skill within a creative community, is the foundation of these retreats. Daily demonstrations, individual and group dialogue, videos and inspiring resources are a part of each day. Classes are taught at the renowned Sunset Center in a large sun-filled studio equipped with individual easels.
A detailed list of artists' supplies required for each course will be sent upon your registration. These materials have been chosen for their quality and flexibility and with the intention that you will enjoy using them long after the course.

An Artists’ Retreat Course includes:

Anna Rhodes, BFA, MA, has studied, taught and created art in extraordinary settings throughout the world. Her background is a fascinating collage of classical training, the deeply felt influences of the Renaissance, the Impressionists, the Bauhaus Movement and a creative passion grown from spending the 60's in New York, the 70's and 80's in San Francisco and a lifetime traveling internationally.
